Saturday, September 8, 2012

Have you ever wondered why thrift stores sell old cabinet doors, or better...why would anyone buy them? Well, because they make really good subjects for various DIY repurposing projects
I have scoured the internet to bring you this list of awesome ideas to inspire you:

The Ultimate DIY Accessory Organizer @ brit+co

Cupboard Door-gone-Art Desk @ icandyhandmade

Magnetic Memo Board @ delightfully noted

Office and craft supplies organizer @ Meridian Road

Cork Burlap Memo Board @ Shabby Love

Cabinet door serving tray @ Crafty Nest

Coat hangers @ Crafty Scrappy Happy

Dry Erase Boards @ pretty handy girl

Cabinet door Photo @ Joy Is At Home

Chalkboard Message Board @ bhg

Jewelry holder @ Life Made Interesting

Decorative clip board @ The Creative Crate

Awesome kids' wall peg board @ ModPodge Rocks

Headboard @ remodelaholic

Cabinet Door Clock @ Twice Lovely

Photo collage @ A Thousand Words

Antique Sign @ the shabby creek cottage

Mason jars with flowers @ nest 'n feathers

Playroom Art @ 320sycamore

Inspired yet? Go...raid your local ReStores and GoodWills. I also like to look in the As-is section at Ikea. They always have cabinet doors and most always they are 99cent.

Have a wonderful Saturday! Hugs,

Iuliana

Weekly Feature {The Ironstone Nest}

Tuesday, August 14, 2012

Today's feature is a realistic kitchen transformation that left me drooling over my keyboard. I am not sure I even want to show you the Before, because I am afraid to cause bad dreams to any of my lovely readers.

I love the subway tile, the beautiful white cabinets, the chalkboard wall, the vintage accessories, and of course the ironstone. See more details about the transformation
on Laura's blog The Ironstone Nest (cute blog name, right?)
Here's the gorgeous After

If you don't wanna wake up during the night having had a nightmare about an ugly kitchen haunting you, then don't look at the Before picture below.

Is it even the same kitchen?! It's almost as if they actually put an extra window,
because the Before sure looks dark. I hope you enjoy today's feature.
Head on over to The Ironstone Nest and
show some comment love.

Hugs,
Iuliana

Positively Splendid

I think Positively Splendid was one of the first (if not the first) diy blogs I have started following and has been an inspiration ever since. Well, today one of my projects was the most viewed in last week's Saturday Seven Link Party. Seriously....the most viewed? How awesome is that?

I know it may not mean much to some, but it sure does to me, and I just wanted to share with you that little moment of joy.

On a less famous note, I got back from Chicago and my little daughter did so well on the plane. Thank you to all my friends and family that our time there so special, even if most of it was spent removing wallpaper and painting. It was fun!

Happy Saturday y'all!

Night Stands into a Play Kitchen

Wednesday, June 27, 2012

Awhile ago, I really wanted to make a play kitchen for my daughter, but then I found one for only $12 at a thrift store and that was the end of it. Did you know you can make one out old nightstands?!

Beyond adorable! Robyn from The Farmer's Nest is showing us how to make a play kitchen like this.
 Go here for the tutorial.
